Chiswick children give the scarecrow an urban makeover
Several talented Chiswick children have won art kits following a competition held by Haus Properties to draw an ‘Urban Scarecrow’ in conjunction with the recent St Nicholas Harvest Fair.
The winners, Helen Doran (7 years old), Isabel Calvin-Freeman (5 years old), and Noah Munro (8 years old - pictured), each had a varied take on the hero of the harvest, from a conventional scarecrow in a field, to a very urban scarecrow pictured in London with a classic black taxi.
All of the winners received a Bernard Myers inspired art kit – whose art work was auctioned at the Haus sponsored St Nicholas Harvest Fair – a certificate of congratulations and a handwritten letter from the Chiswick Urban Scarecrow himself.
Jamie Lester, Head of Haus Properties, comments: “We received some truly creative entries, and were very impressed with the children’s creative talent. We also got some great pictures from the event on our roaming ‘Haus Mates’ photo booth, which proved a big hit! Participating in these local community events remains an important aspect of what we do at Haus Properties, and we look forward to many more in the future.”
