Haus sponsor St Nicholas Harvest Fair and the hunt is on for London’s most ‘Urban Scarecrow’
Haus Properties are proud to announce that they will be sponsoring the St Nicholas Harvest Fair in Chiswick on 13th October and will be launching an ‘Urban Scarecrow’ drawing competition in the build up to the event.
The Urban Scarecrow competition launch will be taking place on Saturday 29th September at the Haus Chiswick office, where a street performing scarecrow will be handing out competition entries to the local community.
Traditionally, the Harvest Fair marks the end of a successful growing season, where people give thanks to the land by hosting a celebration. Scarecrows play an important part in protecting the crops and ensuring the harvest is a triumphant one, so Haus Properties wanted to pay tribute and celebrate the scarecrow in urban style.
The St Nicholas Harvest Fair will also play host to a range of other festivities, including an auction of art work by the late British artist, Bernard Myers, whose work can be found at the National Maritime Museum and Tate Gallery.
The Urban Scarecrow competition will be judged in key stages: nursery, ages 5-7, 7-11, 11-14, and 14-16, and each age group will be judged separately on their drawing abilities. Bernard Myers inspired art kits will be awarded to the winners.
Jamie Lester, Head of Haus Properties, comments: “We’re really happy to be sponsoring the St Nicholas Harvest Fair. Supporting the local community has always been at the root of everything we do, and continues to motivate us into thinking up fun ways of getting everyone together. Hopefully we’ll receive a lot of Urban Scarecrow entries and make Bernard Myers proud of W4!”
